Douglas Byrd Middle School project scope consisted of replacing the existing gymnasium building that was destroyed by fire.  The kitchen and locker rooms received extensive smoke damage and were completely renovated with all new finishes as part of the scope.  One of the major obstacles involved remediating the smoke present in the locker room.  The kitchen area was replaced with all new food service equipment.  The second phase of the project included a 6-classroom addition.  All work was completed on time and within budget.
